I blew away my pathetic attempt at a web construction earlier today. I hadn't updated it in years, possibly since i was in Sydney, which is enough excuse as any. So I made the transition from drupal 4.6 -> drupal 6.12.
egads! The learning curve is still steeep! Thankfully, the install process is streamlined and much much nicer than it was in the 3 and 4 series. No more database hackery, that part all 'just happens'. yay!
However, have you ever attempted to work out what extra modules you'd like to install to give more than just basic functionality? There are some options here, the one I used to use, I will now call "Poke your eyes out with a rusty fork," being of course, browsing the entire list. I got to page 64, the letter 'C' before I decided I did not hate myself that much and went looking for recommendations. There are some, which include module comparison. It's still pretty sucky though. It is just module overload, with no ability to independently determine the quality of a module. I do now have a calendar and automated alias generation, which is a good start for the day.

RSN, I hope, I'll have it to a state where I can throw [info - personal]dormant_dragon at it, for her sustainable living blog. and me with my cooking, ramblings and coffee appreciation.

In the meantime, it's now time to sleep, and I have a Yuki, busy bunting my chin with hers, while purring madly. Kitten love. It's enough to rule the world with.
